West Brook Pond, Entrance. Newfoundland 2005 digital C-print 11x17
|
The so-called "ponds" near the Newfoundland West Coast are really inland fjords. The spongy land between them and the sea sprang up after the heavy glaciers melted. One walks 2 km from the parking lot (partially boardwalked) to the boat launch to take the 3-hour cruise. Notice the boat in the lower right. The photo was taken from a similar one. |
